October News Update

October 24, 2008

Hello again Flock!

We have several bits of news to bring you in this month's newsletter. Hope this message finds you well!

Clif GreenNotes

We are very excited to announce that CLIF / GreenNotes (you know, CLIF bar) has taken notice of our focus on sustainability (www.greenduhks.com) and is now collaborating with us to promote eco-friendly touring practices. GreenNotes is a powerful collaboration focused on environmental action whose family of musicians already includes Ben Kweller, Josh Ritter, Missy Higgins and Steven Kellogg and the Sixers. More on Clif GreenNotes here - http://www.clifgreennotes.com - the Duhks aren't listed on there yet, but we will be very soon!

Duhks on the Radio

The new album has been doing really well at radio and reached Top 10 on the Non-Commercial Radio chart. Now, a whole bunch of new stations are considering the single "Mighty Storm" for airplay. Show 'em what you think about The Duhks music! Head over to www.duhks.com/radio.cfm for some info about how you can be involved in spreading the music.

On Tour

Since our return from Europe we have been full speed ahead with the 2008 Fast Paced World Tour. We had a string of sold out shows in the Northeast, and then made our way down to Nashville, TN where we were asked to participate in a showcase as well as a special Green Panel on Sustainability for the Americana Music Conference. We have been getting more opportunities lately to share our views and educate others on sustainable touring; it's very important to us and it's been a lot of fun!

"Fast Paced World" Video

Continuing on from Nashville, we ventured to the west coast to shoot the music video for "Fast Paced World." We were approached by Dream Rockwell, a director, who wanted to use the song for her entry in the Elevate Film Festival. The premise was that the entire video needed to be filmed and edited within 48 hours! We shot on location at the Salton Sea in California - an eerie but inspiring place near Coachella, CA. The video was done in collaboration with the carnival-esque dance troupe Lucent Dossier and turned out to be an incredible experience. Not only did we have an amazing time but we met some great friends and creative people in the process. We can't wait to show you the final product, so keep checking in with us here at www.duhks.com for an announcement of the premiere!
